This installation represents one of the most artistically beautiful designed units. While walking up the staircase to the upper floor is an exhilarating experience. The ecosystem can be viewed from many incredible vantage points, with enough distance to give incredible perspective.

With 37 ft. long x 20.5 ft. high x 12 ft. wide (base extention) and Rainforest Ecosystem wall area of 18 ft high and 18.5 ft wide; totaling up to 126 sq. ft. It’s no wonder this project looked so outstanding from practically any standpoint.

  • An Aquatic Ecosystem (to a depth of 24 inches) incorporating biologically safe Fibreglass and Resin waterproofing (4 layered applications), with mounts to accommodate tempered, thick plate glass (with beveled lip and mitred corners) to allow side viewing, below the water line. *As seen by the picture on the right.
  • Constructed sections of the Ecosystem comprising of pond areas, bog‑like areas, land areas and boxed water form sections.
  • The water circulation system includes a 1/4″ diameter water feed line for evaporation compensation wherever required in the Ecosystem, a 1″ diameter drain line to an existing floor drain for water exchange and safety, the pump systems, the water treatment systems, and a Reverse Osmosis system with a water saver device and a reservoir.
  • Slate tile strips left with water running down on either side of a 5.5 ft wide central living wall area. On either side of the slate tile, will be 2 ft strips of living wall running up the wall. Outside of this will be 1 ft of slate tile, as well as on the sides and 3 ft along the top at the ceiling.
  • A sculptured waterfall with multiple flow forms, constructed of lava rock.
  • Substrate (planting medium) layering; multiple layers of rock material will be use (including lava rock).
  • A Misting System with lines and misters to be installed in all required areas of the Ecosystem.

Planting accomplished in 3 stages;

  1. the vertical or Rainforest Ecosystem Wall
  2. the Base extension of the Ecosystem
  3. the Water Sections

The Plants will be arranged in the best possible locations and conditions for the best possible aesthetics using; mostly ferns, moss and shallow wall growing vines as well as bromeliads, orchids, epiphytes, and crotons, spathophyllums, ferns and water plants at the base.

The fish to populate the aquatic sections may comprise; Rainbows (turquoise, bosemani), Barbs, Farawellas, Mollies (reds and yellows), Plecos, Corycats, Pretty Tetras, Cardinal Tetras, Redtailed Shark, Clown Loach, etc.
